Your Mission
As a land and development engineer, you will be a central part of the municipality's community building efforts. You will work broadly within land and development issues and have the opportunity to influence how Åmål grows and develops. The work is carried out in close collaboration with other departments within the municipality, such as Technical and Leisure Services, the Business Unit, the Environmental Unit, and the municipal housing company Åmål Kommunfastigheter AB. The role also includes responsibility for the management of a smaller portfolio of the municipality's facilities, ensuring that the properties are maintained and developed in a long-term and sustainable manner.
Your Main Responsibilities
- Drive and participate in development projects from concept to completed land
- Negotiate and establish agreements regarding land, development, and property law
- Collaborate with developers, businesses, property owners, and other stakeholders
- Participate in detailed planning processes and provide expert support in land and development issues
- Be responsible for the municipality's local supply
- Manage and develop the municipality's smaller property portfolio
Who You Are
We are looking for someone with experience in land and development issues – preferably from municipal operations or the consulting industry. You have a relevant higher education, such as in civil engineering, surveying, real estate development, or a similar field. As a person, you are curious, solution-oriented, and enjoy variety in your work. You find it easy to collaborate and see opportunities where others see obstacles. Taking initiative and developing new working methods motivates you. You appreciate having structure and delivering results according to plan. For this role, personal competencies are highly valued.
Formal Competence Requirements
- Higher education or university degree in civil engineering or surveying, or other education/experience deemed equivalent by the employer.
- Several years of work experience in the field of community building.
- The position requires you to have a valid driver's license (B category).
- Digital identification with Bank ID.
Employment
Permanent employment at 100% with start date according to agreement. The employment may begin with a probationary period. The position is currently placed within the community building administration, which is organized directly under the municipal executive board and the building and environmental committee. The immediate supervisor is the head of community building.
