**Your Mission**
As unit manager, you will lead our building permit and planning operations and play a key role in the municipality's community development efforts. You will be responsible for ensuring that the operations are run efficiently, legally, and with good service to citizens and businesses. The role includes both leading and developing the unit and actively participating in the work related to physical planning, building permits, shoreline protection, and supervision. Your unit consists of three building permit administrators and a GIS engineer. Additionally, access to various technical consultants is available through framework agreements. You will be part of the municipality's community development administration and collaborate closely with colleagues in the Technical & Leisure Department, the Environmental Unit, the Business Unit, among others.
**Your Main Responsibilities**
- Lead and develop the building permit operations and physical planning.
- Drive and participate in the work with detailed plans and comprehensive planning.
- Ensure that the Planning and Building Act (PBL) is followed and applied correctly.
- Be responsible for operational planning, follow-up, and employee development.
- Contribute to the municipality's strategic community development work.
- Collaborate with politicians, businesses, developers, and residents.
**Who You Are**
We are looking for someone with a relevant higher education in fields such as urban planning, architecture, surveying, construction technology, or equivalent. You have prior experience in physical planning, detailed planning, and building permit issues, preferably within a municipal organization. You possess good knowledge of the Planning and Building Act (PBL) and thrive in a role that allows you to combine leadership with practical work in the planning area. As a person, you are curious, solution-oriented, and enjoy variety in your work. You are driven by efficiency and want to see results. You are motivated to develop both people and operations and find it easy to create engagement and collaborate with others. Previous leadership experience is an advantage but not a requirement. You should be interested in and understand the importance of good leadership. Personal competencies are highly valued for this role.
**Formal Competency Requirements**
- Higher education in community development or surveying or other education/experience deemed equivalent by the employer.
- Several years of work experience in the field of community development.
- Good knowledge of the Planning and Building Act (PBL).
- Good knowledge of physical planning.
- Employment requires a valid driver's license (B).
- Digital identification with Bank ID.
**Employment**
Permanent employment at 100% with start date according to agreement. The employment may begin with a probationary period. The position is currently placed within the community development administration, which is organized directly under the municipal executive board and the building and environmental committee. The immediate supervisor is the community development manager.
