Luleå International School is a new municipal school opening in Luleå in autumn 2024. The school targets students in grades 4-9 who want an international education where a significant part of the instruction takes place in English. The Swedish curriculum will be followed, and the school will be characterized by its international orientation. The school is located in central Luleå. Luleå International School is an excellent choice for Luleå residents who want to provide their children with a broad and exciting schooling, as well as for families from other countries who want to move to Luleå and feel welcome in a safe and good school.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
You will work at a school offering high-quality education where theoretical subjects are primarily taught in English. Language and mathematics are taught in both English and Swedish. As a teacher, you are therefore comfortable teaching in both languages.
In this role, you will have overall responsibility for designing, developing, and driving the school's special support work. You will build structures and working methods from the ground up that ensure each student receives the right support to succeed, thereby creating important conditions for the school's long-term development. Your work includes mapping student needs, designing interventions, following up on work, and collaborating with teachers, students, and guardians.

QUALIFICATIONS
You are a trained primary school teacher and special education teacher; if you are trained as a special education pedagogist, that is also interesting. You have experience in both roles and are comfortable teaching students needing support in both Swedish and Swedish as a second language, as well as mathematics. You have good experience working with newly arrived students. It is important that you feel secure in your role as a teacher and can help students feel comfortable with you. You believe that students are the most important aspect of a school and want to create good conditions for them to develop in the best possible way.
As a person, you are flexible, stable, and good at communicating and building positive relationships. You have high work capacity and want to go the extra mile to ensure this new establishment becomes truly excellent. Together, we will create a good working climate with a professional approach. Personal suitability is heavily weighted.
