Mikaelgården Association operates a Waldorf School (grades 1-9) and residential care facilities for children and youth under HVB and LSS frameworks. As Sweden's oldest anthroposophical organization, we have existed for 90 years and have been purpose-driven and non-profit since our founding. Interest and care for people permeate our work. We are an organization that integrates research, experience, and proven knowledge into modern times. Our students often have various neuropsychiatric diagnoses, and we practice low-affective approach, clarifying pedagogy, and holistic thinking.
We offer a dynamic workplace in a beautiful, serene natural environment with stunning architecture and atmospheric spaces. We have a flat organizational structure with an excellent communication climate where the whole person is welcome at work. We believe we are stronger together and collaborate and support each other through challenging issues. We strive to maintain a shared ethical compass and develop as individuals in our professional roles and as human beings. As a manager, you will work closely with the remaining leadership team, of which you will be a part. The position involves developing and quality-assuring Mikaelgården for present and future needs. We offer continuous supervision, further education, and wellness initiatives, aiming for a sustainable work life.
We are seeking someone who wants a versatile job and wishes to make a difference in children's and youth's lives. You will serve as the permit holder for our three LSS residential facilities. Therefore, we are looking for a candidate with a degree in social work or behavioral science (or similar education of at least 180 ECTS credits). An additional requirement is previous experience with the target group, and we particularly value candidates who are responsible, initiative-taking, and reliable. The role involves communicating with authorities, guardians, children/youth, and other collaborative partners. You will have overall management responsibility for the work groups in the house, working closely with unit managers who lead daily work with the children.
At Mikaelgården, we have the conditions to provide children with what they need, following each child's needs and interests. The physical proximity to the school enables easier collaboration around the children, creating a beautiful and meaningful daily life for them. Many children ride horses weekly. Dogs, chickens, goats, and donkey Ivan support the children's everyday life. One can dig in the biodynamic garden or participate in the children's garden as an alternative to the classroom. Huts are built, and zip lines are installed in the forest.
As an employee at Mikaelgården, you will often be touched by the cultural elements of the place. These are naturally integrated into the workday through gatherings with music, movement, and poetry, as well as annual festivals.
