About this role
Gothenburg City Mission is a non-profit, mission-driven organization working to support people living in vulnerable life situations. Together, we aim to create a Gothenburg where everyone is included. A city where we meet the person, not the problem.
At our organization, you will work in an environment characterized by high commitment and drive, where our aspiration to do more for more people guides our actions both short and long-term.
City Mission has approximately 350 employees, a couple hundred temporary staff, and around 500 volunteers. We are geographically located in Gothenburg and its surrounding municipalities.
The HR department is a central support function with overall responsibility for HR, payroll, and reception. The team consists of two HR generalists, two payroll administrators, two receptionists, and an HR manager - all working from the office on Första Långgatan in Gothenburg. We are now seeking a replacement for one of our payroll administrators who is retiring.
Payroll Administrator Position
As a payroll administrator with us, you will be part of a close-knit two-person team responsible for payroll management at Gothenburg City Mission and some of our smaller sister organizations. You will provide our managers and employees with efficient, operational support for all payroll-related matters. Currently, you will manage approximately 650 monthly payrolls for both salaried employees and workers across several legal entities and collective agreements.
With us, you will work on the entire payroll process - from employment contracts and salary preparation to tasks such as employer declarations, reporting service pensions and insurance, requisitioning wage subsidies, and issuing employer certificates. You will also be our contact for many external matters with agencies like Social Insurance, Tax Authority, Statistics Sweden, Fremia, and Enforcement Authority. We use Hogia as our personnel and payroll system and Medvind for time reporting. Together with the rest of the HR team and operations, you will also work on developing and implementing HR-related guidelines, routines, and processes.
HR work at Gothenburg City Mission is varied, challenging, and developmental. You will have great opportunities to influence and be where things are happening - and grow in your profession. We are a professional and warm team that works closely and supports each other. In short, we can offer an unusually fun job in an organization that makes a real difference.
Qualifications
To be considered for the role, you need:
- Relevant basic education in payroll administration
- At least two years of qualified and independent work experience in the payroll field
- Using digital tools and systems as a natural part of your work
Advantageous if you have:
- Worked with scheduling issues in healthcare/social care or other personnel-intensive and schedule-driven operations
- Previous experience with the system support we use (Hogia/Medvind)
- Curiosity and interest in development issues, especially in IT
- Previous experience with collective agreements in the industry
As a person, we want you to be meticulous, independent, and efficient in your ongoing work. It is important that you have a service-oriented approach focused on the organization's needs and can collaborate in a structured and unpretentious manner. You are a good communicator with the ability to explain payroll issues comprehensibly and establish trusting relationships with those you meet. Of course, you also contribute to laughter and warmth in the work group. Since Swedish is our working language, you need to master the language both verbally and in writing.
Our core values are important to us, and we expect that you, as a job applicant, share our view that all people have the right to a place in our city, a home of their own, and a voice.
Terms
The position is a permanent employment at 70%, or the employment level we agree upon. For the right person, there might be an opportunity to combine the role with other administrative tasks. A probationary period may be applied.
We apply the collective agreement for Health, Care, and Other Care via Fremia, with associated benefits and conditions. You will, among other things, have the opportunity for wellness allowance and part-time remote work.
We would like you to be able to start your employment during March 2026.
We see diversity as a strength and look forward to applicants with different backgrounds, interests, and experiences.
Welcome with your application!
