**About the Position**
In this role, you will have overall responsibility for SMTM's real estate matters and work with a wide range of tasks related to our premises. You will lead and participate in renovation projects as the agency's representative towards the property owner, which is often the National Property Board of Sweden. In close collaboration with the operations, you will ensure that orders are followed up in the projects and that the delivery meets the operational needs and requirements. You will be responsible for the budget in the projects and forecast upcoming costs in the area.
The role involves extensive contact within the agency, where you will collaborate with managers and leadership on strategic issues related to properties and premises supply. You will drive the development of the agency's work with all lease agreements and develop guidelines and strategies for the area. As an expert in lease law, you will be responsible for negotiations, budgeting, and monitoring rents and media consumption.
**Your Competence and Experience**
You should have a post-secondary education in the real estate field, such as real estate management or construction. You should have good knowledge in property management and/or renovations and have previously worked on managing and developing at a comprehensive level. Strong skills in interpreting and understanding lease agreements are essential for success in this role. You should have prior experience in developing and maintaining premises supply plans within an organization. You have both led and participated in projects in this area and possess good knowledge in project management and budgeting within projects, as well as the ability to read and understand blueprints. It is considered an advantage if you have knowledge and prior experience in systematic fire protection work in public premises, as well as managing indoor climate issues.

**More About Us**
The Property Development Unit is a newly established unit that will commence operations at the turn of the year and is responsible for operational support to all venues in Stockholm, Karlskrona, Gävle, and Linköping. The unit will belong to the Department of Operational Support, which also includes Finance, Procurement, HR, Sustainability, IT, and museum operations.
**About the Agency**
SMTM currently operates and develops the Maritime Museum, the Maritime History Museum, the Vasa Museum, the Wreck Museum, and the Railway Museum. As of January 1, 2026, the Defense Historical Museums, the Army Museum, and the Air Force Museum will also become part of the agency, which will then change its name to the National Museums of Maritime, Transport, and Defense History. The agency will employ approximately 390 staff as of January 1.

Permanent employment, with a 6-month probationary period potentially applicable. Start date according to agreement. Travel to all operational locations is required in this position.
