About this role
Habilitation Clinic, Nyköping
About Us
We are a specialized unit within Region Sörmland, based on specific expertise in permanent disabilities and their consequences in daily life. Habilitation serves as a complement to other health and medical care. Our mission involves providing habilitative and evaluative interventions for children, adolescents, and adults with permanent disabilities such as mobility impairments, multiple disabilities, intellectual disabilities, and autism spectrum disorders.
We work in multiprofessional teams divided into children, youth, and adult teams. The professions collaborate closely at the clinic and engage in common prioritization.
Your Responsibilities
You will plan and carry out speech therapy interventions for children and adolescents to develop or compensate for insufficient communication skills and eating/swallowing abilities. You will work with Alternative and Augmentative Communication (AAC) and various aids to promote communication. Providing information, training, and counseling to the patient’s network is an essential part of the role.
We operate from a behavioral medical perspective, applying behavior analysis (ABA).
We offer you a stimulating, enjoyable, and developmental job. Interventions are provided individually and/or in groups, at our clinic or in the patient’s everyday environments. As you will be an important part of our multiprofessional teams, it is crucial that you enjoy working with others and believe that the best results are achieved collaboratively.
We meet regularly in cross-county professional meetings to discuss and collaborate on profession-specific issues. Continuous improvement is an ongoing endeavor within our organization, with all employees participating.
The work is varied and multifaceted, tailored to the needs of the patients, which is a creative aspect of the role. You will receive guidance from experienced colleagues at the clinic.
Your Qualifications
We are looking for a licensed speech therapist. Experience with the target groups in habilitation is advantageous, as well as experience with Intensive Behavior Training (IBT). A valid driver’s license (Category B) is desirable. We place great emphasis on personal qualities.
