Job Responsibilities
The role involves assessment and treatment of oral motor difficulties, speech, language, and communication challenges, eating and swallowing problems, as well as selecting and prescribing communication aids.
Your role also includes providing information and advice to parents and other individuals in the patient's network, such as TAKK and Akktiv courses.
The speech therapist is part of a habilitation team including an occupational therapist, social worker, special education teacher, speech therapist, psychologist, nurse, physiotherapist, and doctor and dietitian.
About the Workplace
Halmstad Habilitation is one of three clinics in Halland providing habilitation services to children, youth, and adults with various forms of disabilities. The department is divided into three teams, two working with children up to 18 years old and one with adults from 18 years old.
Qualifications
We are seeking a licensed speech therapist. Experience in habilitation services is preferred. Knowledge of Alternative Augmentative Communication (AAC) is also advantageous. A valid driver's license (B) is required as the position involves home and school visits.
The ideal candidate has a genuine interest in working with people. You have a pedagogical approach and can clearly and simply present and communicate information. You are open to changes and new ideas that contribute to improving the work environment and are willing to share your knowledge. Great importance will be placed on personal suitability.
