Speech Therapist for Preschool at Central Child and Student Health

Within the Education and Labor Market Administration, we have preschools, primary schools, secondary schools, a reception unit for newly arrived students, municipal activity responsibility, adult education, a culture school, a technology school, a nature school, central child and student health services, youth clinics, a labor market unit, and a campus for higher studies. The professions included in the central child and student health services are social workers, speech therapists, psychologists, special educators, school nurses, and school doctors. The unit is responsible for child and student health teams for preschools, primary schools, adapted primary schools, secondary schools, and adapted secondary schools. Since the start of the school year in August 2025, there has been an organization with five overarching student health teams for primary and adapted primary schools aimed at creating good conditions for principals to lead and develop their student health work. "Student Health in Focus" has been a new forum for principals and all professionals in the student health teams since the start of the school year in August 2025, aimed at developing preventive and health-promoting student health work through dialogue and creating equity in student health efforts. Collaboration with all professions and units within the Education and Labor Market Administration and other municipal administrations is essential for the central Child and Student Health Services. Active work is ongoing to build bridges between the administration's various operations and the municipality's other administrations. Since September 2024, the psychosocial aspect of the Youth Clinic's operations has also been included under the umbrella of the central Child and Student Health Services. JOB DESCRIPTION We are now seeking an additional speech therapist for preschools to join the central child and student health services. Together with the unit manager for child and student health, the deputy school manager, principals, and special educators for preschools, you will have the opportunity to help shape the role to best match our existing competencies and meet the needs of the preschools. The child health team focusing on preschools is now being expanded with both a speech therapist and an additional special educator, which provides excellent opportunities to create a child health team that contributes to operational development across all preschools. Our development work is practice-oriented and based on scientific foundations and proven experience. Language development is an actively ongoing effort, and all preschools in Katrineholm municipality have participated in the IFoU program "Language-Developing Preschool" for three years. The preschools also show an increased awareness of the importance of the learning environment, a work that can be further developed. As a speech therapist, you, along with the special educators and the speech therapist in the child health team, will be a key person in the development work of the operations. Your approach is practice-oriented and characterized by collaboration, responsiveness, and commitment. Child and student health serves as an important link between the municipality's various administrations, all municipalities in the region, and Region Sörmland. Katrineholm municipality conducts active health-promoting work with Pep municipality within the framework of Generation Pep, which has received national recognition. "Together for the Best for Children in Sörmland" is a collaboration model for early interventions for children and youth aged 0-18, encompassing Region Sörmland's health care, municipal social services, and preschool/school. QUALIFICATIONS We are looking for someone with a degree in speech therapy. You have good knowledge of the preventive and health-promoting mission of child and student health, and you have documented experience in driving systematic change and development work. It is an advantage if you have previous experience successfully leading and coordinating various professions within preschools. You motivate, lead, and create conditions for others to develop their work and achieve common goals. With a realistic perspective, you contribute to clarifying tasks and goals for the group. You work solution-focused, build and maintain good relationships, and have the ability to create engagement in various contexts. The role involves collaboration in various forms, which means you have the ability to be both self-directed and possess good collaboration skills.
