Regionteatern Blekinge Kronoberg is a performing arts institution serving two regions. Regionteatern's mission is to produce, arrange, and stimulate performing arts for children, youth, and adults. The organization encompasses its own productions, co-productions, educational activities, residencies, guest performances, and touring productions.
Regionteatern is a limited company owned by Region Kronoberg, Region Blekinge, and Växjö municipality. The theater has its rehearsal spaces, studios, workshops, and administration located in Växjö.
Regionteatern's activities include theater, dance, and various events touring schools, community centers, and other venues, primarily in Kronoberg and Blekinge, as well as on its own stages in Växjö and Karlshamn.
Regionteatern Seeks Sound Technician for Temporary Position
Do you have a burning passion for sound, performing arts, and technical development?
We are seeking a sound technician for a 6-month temporary position during spring 2026.
As the theater will be collaborating with Kulturhuset Spira during this period, part of the employment will be located in Jönköping, followed by Växjö and Karlshamn.
You will experience a varied workday, alternating between sound work, rigging, maintenance, performance technology, and touring. You'll become part of an engaged technical team where collaboration, flexibility, and technical expertise are crucial.
Main Tasks and Responsibilities:
• Participate in production development and serve as a technician for theater performances, post-show discussions, etc.
• Manage technical equipment, including operation and maintenance before, during, and after performances
• Assist in rigging sound, light, image, and stage equipment at home venues and on tour
• Work as a performance technician during tours and other events
• Participate in practical work around performance venues, both at home stages and on tour
Qualifications – We Are Seeking Candidates With:
• Relevant theater technical education focused on sound and/or several years of relevant work experience
• Experience in theater technical work and good understanding of performing arts
• Experience with Qlab programming
• Basic electrical and rigging knowledge
• High social competence
• Driving license B is required
Meritorious:
• Touring experience
• Knowledge of moving images and projection
• Live sound experience
• C driving license
Personal Characteristics:
• Ability to work independently and take responsibility for tasks
• Safety-conscious and responsible for a well-functioning work environment
• Interest and understanding of artistic work
• Flexible, solution-oriented with good prioritization skills
