About the Position
The Cavalry Department of the Life Guards is responsible for all riding and horse training within the Armed Forces. Grooms at the Life Battalion were introduced in 2017, and we are now seeking new team members. The work is performed according to a shift schedule, which may involve early morning, evening, weekend, and holiday work. The temporary position lasts until December 1, 2026.
Main Responsibilities
Your primary tasks will include stable management, horse care, and equipment maintenance. This entails daily duties such as mucking out, feeding, grooming, and leading horses to and from the paddock and walking machine.
Qualifications
- Good experience with horses and stable work.
- Completed upper secondary education with passing grades.
- No allergies to fur or hay.
- Good physical ability.
Meritorious
- Grooming certification.
- Previous employment in stable operations.
- Driving license category B.
- Driving licenses BE/CE.
- Previous employment in the Armed Forces.
Personal Attributes
We are looking for someone with extensive experience in horse and stable work. You should have the ability to work effectively within the structured schedule for stable duties. It is crucial that you take responsibility for the horses' well-being and have the capacity to take initiative within established guidelines. Furthermore, high demands are placed on accuracy, teamwork, and loyalty. Personal suitability is of great importance.

Terms

The Life Guards is one of the largest units in the Armed Forces, with a history dating back to 1521. We train tomorrow's soldiers, as well as military police and personnel for international missions. We guard the royal palaces and operate security and ground combat units. We also have the responsibility for preserving and developing the Swedish military music tradition.
