About this role

We are now looking for someone who wants to work on a fixed schedule with me! Who am I? My name is Carl, and I was born in May of last year with a rare diagnosis. We live in an apartment in central Gothenburg, where we spend most of our time, but we also have a summer house in Lidköping that we sometimes visit on weekends and holidays. As my assistant, you will support and follow my development in several areas. I will need help from someone with extensive experience in care and support, but I also welcome those with a junior profile who have a big heart and curiosity. We will grow together with both experienced and new assistants on our shared journey. What a day with me might look like: Since I am a small child, I require close care and support for my needs. Due to congenital breathing difficulties, I have a tracheostomy tube (trach) implanted, which requires constant supervision and care. I enjoy cuddling and feel secure in company. I snuggle with my parents and like to go for walks in my stroller. There are always two assistants working with me, as I need someone who can see me at all times and interpret my signals regarding what I need help with. Much of my routine is structured, but you will learn this during your introduction and as you get to know my needs. You will accompany me on my journey in the early stages of life, which will also include future hospital visits and surgeries. Who are you? You need to be a trustworthy person who respects and is curious and attentive to my needs. You are responsible and can easily grasp routines in both speech and writing. Communication needs to be clear and smooth, as there may be urgent situations that need to be resolved efficiently and safely. We prefer that you have experience or are studying for a career in healthcare or emergency services, but most importantly, you should have an interest in me as a small child and a desire to learn new things. If you can use some sign language as support, that would be a great plus, but it is not a requirement. Experience working with tracheostomy or in healthcare is an advantage. We want to build an assistant team where both those with extensive work experience and those just starting their careers can contribute and grow. The job with me starts immediately, so it’s good if you are flexible afterward. About the position: The position is 35% part-time. The work schedule varies on weekdays, Monday to Friday. Week 1: Thursday 15:30-22:00, Friday 15:30-22:00 Week 2: Monday 07:30-15:30, Tuesday 08:00-15:00 Week 3: Tuesday 15:00-21:30, Thursday 15:30-22:00, Friday 15:30-22:00 Week 4: Thursday 08:00-15:00, Friday 07:30-17:00 In addition to the scheduled shifts, the position also includes being on-call approximately once a week. Being on-call means that you are reachable by phone for a few hours and prepared to step in and work if a colleague falls ill. On-call hours are either 07:00-11:00 (for day shift cover) or 15:00-19:00 (for evening shift cover). The position is available immediately. However, employment will occur prior to this as you will be scheduled for shadowing and trach training. Passal Assistans offers a rewarding and varied job with good employment conditions, training, and wellness benefits. Fixed hourly wage according to agreement and other compensations according to collective agreements. You will also receive good support and contact with the assistance manager.
