About this role

Säffle Ambulance Services

is currently seeking a seasonal substitute for patient transportation by stretcher.

Your Workplace

In Värmland, there are 12 ambulance stations operating a total of 24 ambulances, three assessment units, and nine stretcher patient transport vehicles. The service also staffs healthcare personnel on service line buses. Close cooperation occurs with the air ambulance and emergency physician car stationed at Karlstad Airport. The helicopter doctor provides additional medical support to the ambulance services.

The region's population structure, densely populated in the south and rural in the north, combined with significant distances, presents a challenge in terms of accessibility. The ambulance services are certified according to ISO 9001:2015, a quality management system.

Your Responsibilities

Stretcher patient transport provides transportation for patients who, for medical reasons, cannot be transported in any other way than lying down and who do not require care during transport. As an employee in stretcher patient transport, you will perform medical transports both within and outside the county.

Your Skills and Qualifications

  • We are looking for applicants who are nursing assistants, ambulance caregivers, or nursing students in semesters 4-5.
  • You should have a valid B driver's license with at least three years of driving experience.
  • Possess proficiency in Swedish, both spoken and written.

Great emphasis is placed on personal traits. You should have a strong ability to work independently, as the position involves solitary work. You are confident, stable, and possess self-awareness, adapting your behavior to the situation. Experience from similar work is an advantage.

Prior to potential employment, you will be required to undergo work tests and pass a health examination coordinated by the region. Region Värmland is committed to a drug-free work environment and conducts mandatory drug testing for new hires.

Before your employment, a test day will be held that includes interviews and practical tests in the form of physical assessments and driving tests. If you are shortlisted for the position, you will be invited to this day via a separate email.
