REGION VÄRMLAND
The Ambulance Service in Karlstad is now seeking temporary vacation replacements for prone patient transport.
In Värmland, there are 12 ambulance stations operating a total of 24 ambulances, three assessment units, and nine prone patient transport vehicles. The service also staffs healthcare personnel on service line buses. Close collaboration occurs with the ambulance helicopter and emergency doctor vehicle stationed at Karlstad Airport. The helicopter doctor serves as additional medical support for the ambulance service.
The county’s demographic structure—densely populated in the south and rural in the north—combined with significant distances presents challenges in terms of accessibility. The ambulance service is certified according to ISO 9001:2015, a quality management system.
Prone patient transport provides transportation for patients who, for medical reasons, can only be transported in a lying position and who do not require care during transport. As an employee in prone patient transport, you will carry out patient transports both within and outside the county.
We are looking for you who are a nursing assistant, ambulance caregiver, or a nursing student in your 4th or 5th semester. You must hold a valid B driver's license with at least three years of driving experience and be proficient in Swedish, both spoken and written.
Prior to your potential employment, you will need to complete work tests and undergo an approved health check conducted by the region. Region Värmland is committed to a drug-free work environment and requires mandatory drug testing upon hiring new staff.
A strong emphasis is placed on personal qualities. You should have a good ability to work independently, as the job involves solitary work. You are confident, stable, possess self-awareness, and behave in a manner appropriate to the situation. Experience from similar work is a merit.
Before employment, a test day will be conducted with interviews and practical tests, including physical tests and driving assessments. If you are considered for the position, you will receive an invitation to the test day in a separate email.
