Your Future Tasks
As an insurance company, we pay compensation to our customers when some form of damage has occurred. In some cases, someone else is responsible for the damage, and this is where you as a part-time worker in recourse comes into the picture. The job involves claiming compensation from the party who caused the damage so that the cost falls on the right party. This involves numerous contacts with involved parties, claims adjusters, and specialists. You will handle cases and negotiate on behalf of LF Uppsala and other regional insurance companies. The counterpart is usually another insurance company representing a company that caused the damage.
By actively working with recourse, we reduce our and our customers' damage costs – to the benefit of all our policyholders. The focus of the work is on contract and consumer law, but you will often be faced with cases spanning the entire area of compensation law.
The job includes:
* Receiving and registering cases
* Reviewing possibilities of recovering money based on rules and legislation
* Monitoring cases and following up to ensure responses
* Receiving payment and closing cases
* Performing some administrative work not directly related to damage cases
You will work primarily through digital channels, but also by phone.
You will be part of a group with experienced and engaged colleagues who discuss cases among themselves and support each other with emerging questions. The position is located at Muningatan 1 in central Uppsala.
Who Are You?
We are looking for someone studying law at the university level, currently in semester three, four, or five of the law program. This is because we seek a long-term employment relationship where you can gain the development and experience required for the role.
As a person, you are proactive, social, and skilled at professionally and objectively addressing different personalities. You are goal- and results-driven, plan and perform your work in a structured manner, and are not afraid to roll up your sleeves where needed. To reach a sustainable agreement with the counterpart, you must find the right legal arguments and be able to formulate them convincingly in writing. You also work persistently to drive your cases forward.
We want you to be able to work approximately 1-2 days per week during semesters. We also need your help during summers and other holiday periods. Work occurs during daytime on weekdays. Of course, we will teach you everything you need to know to perform your tasks well.
In the selection process, we place great importance on personal qualities and value diversity in our operations. To achieve the most unbiased recruitment possible, we use tests in the process.
We always conduct background checks in the recruitment process to assess the final candidate's suitability for the sought position. Drug and alcohol tests may also be conducted.
