About this role
Storumans Municipality is a large municipality in Southern Lapland, covering a vast area. Approximately 6,000 people reside here, with just over half living in the urban areas of Storuman/Stensele and TĂ€rnaby/Hemavan. For those who enjoy an active lifestyle close to nature, there is a fantastic range of activities available, both in summer and winter. Imagine gliding along a well-prepared ski track in the magical winter light, a mirror-like mountain lake on a summer evening when the sun never seems to set, a bog in a clearing in the forest glowing like gold from all the ripe cloudberries, or a freshly brewed cup of coffee in a sunlit spot in April. All this and more are experiences available in our local environment. Our municipality is not just a place to live, but a place where you can enjoy a wonderful life. Storumans Municipality is a Sami administrative municipality, and we value knowledge of the Sami language and culture.
We are a friendly and cheerful team looking for a new colleague. Here, there are opportunities for personal development, and your efforts will be appreciated. As a nurse within the medical unit, you will work in home healthcare and assisted living facilities (SĂBO). You will play a central role for your assigned patients, working both independently and as part of a team. You will assess, plan, execute, and follow up on healthcare interventions for these patients in collaboration with physiotherapists, occupational therapists, doctors, and relatives through various partnerships. Seeing the person behind the illness and limitations is considered one of your finest qualities. You are attentive and communicative, with a great deal of empathy and compassion in your approach. We primarily work during the day, but evening and weekend shifts may occur. No night shifts are required. The overall operations encompass care and nursing homes as well as home healthcare throughout the municipality. In our operations, we strive for quality through various training programs such as BPSD training, watch training, MHFA training, and other short courses and conferences that you will have the opportunity to participate in.
You will perform standard healthcare tasks in the patient's home and also work preventively to promote health and well-being. You will be responsible for delegations, medical assessments, documentation, and registration in various quality systems. There are good opportunities to influence your own work, as you will largely organize, prioritize, and plan your workday independently. Your work will also involve providing guidance, training, and information to the care recipient and their relatives, as well as to other care staff. Depending on the situation, you can quickly adapt and make decisions based on the needs that arise. If you are new to your professional role, you will, of course, receive support from more experienced colleagues and your supervisor.
You are a licensed nurse or will soon complete your approved studies and obtain your license. Since the work involves documentation as well as training/guidance of nursing staff, it is essential that you can express yourself well in both spoken and written Swedish and that you have good computer skills. A driver's license for a manual transmission vehicle is required. Previous experience working in a municipal setting is an advantage. This position is a temporary replacement for regular staff during their absence.
