Our Operations At Akademiska Hospital, the Psychiatric Care Area is organized into four sections, one of which is the Affective Disorders Section. The section includes both inpatient care and several outpatient clinics that together are responsible for specialized psychiatric care for adults in Uppsala County. Different professionals work in teams around the patients. In the section's outpatient care, patients are assessed and treated for conditions such as bipolar disorder, severe depression, and complex personality and anxiety disorders. The section also includes a gender identity clinic and an eating disorders unit for adults. The medical team consists of chief physicians, specialist physicians, residents, and junior doctors. The collaboration among the medical team is positive, with discussions about individual patient cases and medical issues being welcomed. There are excellent opportunities for personal and professional development through stimulating interactions with patients, their families, colleagues from various sections and areas, university staff, and students. Your Assignment As a junior doctor in affective outpatient care, you will perform standard medical work, including patient consultations for assessment and diagnosis, medication follow-ups, prescription writing, and documentation. You will collaborate closely with colleagues and other team professionals and receive regular supervision from specialist physicians, which is typically appreciated. Your Qualifications We are seeking a licensed physician with a broad and genuine interest in psychiatry. In your work, you always put the patient first. You have excellent communication and collaboration skills. As a person, you should be confident and stable, have good judgment, and be thorough. Previous experience in Psychiatry is meritorious.
