About this role
We are looking for a licensed physician who sees specialization in urology as a potential future. The position is as a licensed physician with good opportunities for transitioning to a residency position if we find mutual satisfaction.
The Urology Clinic has approximately 140 employees, of which just over 20 are physicians. Within our area of operation, we offer all types of urological healthcare - from basic investigation and treatment to highly specialized care and research. The area has its own surgical department, outpatient clinic, inpatient ward, and administrative unit. We provide care at Örebro University Hospital and Karlskoga Hospital, but we are responsible for the entire county's urology in combination with highly specialized care outside the region.
We have European certification to conduct residency training in urology. Research is also highly prioritized, and the area has its own research unit. Research is conducted in bladder, kidney, penile, and prostate cancer, as well as in urinary stone disease. You will work in a team with an open climate based on respect and good collaboration, both within and between professional categories. Our team takes pride in the culture and atmosphere that have led to a good working environment and an excellent training place for both students and younger colleagues. Your ability to collaborate is of utmost importance for the team to continue being successful and to maintain the atmosphere characterized by trust, security, and loyalty. Here, we support each other - there is always someone to ask.
The Urology area operates at two of the region's three hospitals, Örebro University Hospital and Karlskoga Hospital. We have a broad urological operation that encompasses both basic urology and most types of highly specialized urological surgery. We also have extensive research activities and an educational mission within both nursing and medical training. At Örebro University Hospital, there is an inpatient ward, a surgical department, a day surgery unit, and a shockwave treatment unit, as well as an administrative unit, a research and development unit, and an outpatient clinic.
Örebro University Hospital (USÖ) is one of the county's three acute hospitals where we provide advanced healthcare, research, and education. In both 2020 and 2019, USÖ received the prestigious award "Best University Hospital" from the newspaper Dagens Medicin. USÖ won the most significant category for medical quality, had the best results in the categories of accessibility, economy, as well as in avoiding pressure ulcers and overcrowding. USÖ also tops the results in the areas of cardiology, kidney failure, and vascular surgery. USÖ has approximately 3,500 employees. We who work here are very proud of our hospital and base our work on collaboration, development, and professionalism.
Region Örebro County is one of the largest employers in the region and an important growth engine. We work for people's health, safety, and well-being, as well as for the county's development. We offer exciting and important jobs in areas such as healthcare, dental care, public transport, culture, and business development. Together, we create a better life.
