About this role

Welcome to the Care and Social Services Administration. We work with support and care for the elderly and people with disabilities. Our goal is to help them live as active and independent a life as possible. The Care and Social Services Administration is one of Sweden's largest employers in municipal care and social services. Approximately 7,500 employees work here based on our core values – making a difference, working together, and welcoming innovation. We offer great opportunities to take personal responsibility, develop, and contribute with your expertise. We strive for an organizational culture built on mutual trust and pride in our operations. More information about working in Uppsala Municipality can be found at https://www.uppsala.se/jobb/vard-halsa-omsorg/ Within the Care and Social Services Administration, full-time employment is our norm. This means all permanent employees fundamentally have a full-time position. More details will be provided during a potential interview. Personal assistants are exempt from this full-time norm. We are now seeking two confident occupational therapists who can step in with commitment, take responsibility, and meet the challenges we face. Here, the service user is at the center, and you will have the opportunity to contribute your knowledge, engagement, and desire to develop – both in your professional role and together with colleagues. Job Responsibilities As an occupational therapist in elderly care, you will have a varied and meaningful assignment. You will: • Conduct independent assessments of ADL, mobility, and assistive device needs. • Participate in care planning and be responsible for prescribing and fitting assistive devices. • Perform supervision of medical technical products (MTP) and conduct MMT tests. • Be part of the unit manager's management team alongside other licensed personnel and team representatives. Linné Care and Social Services Residence and Nora Short-term and Respite Care are located in Sävja in a calm and beautiful environment, with the forest as a close neighbor, approximately 5 kilometers south of Uppsala. Linné is a care and social services residence with 40 apartments spread across 2 floors. 20 places are care beds and 20 are for dementia care. On floors 3 and 4, Nora has a total of 40 places for respite and short-term care for patients with dementia diagnosis or cognitive impairment. Patients come either from the hospital or home. Healthcare needs vary among patients, and an individual assessment is always made. Organizationally, you will belong to the Healthcare Department within the Care and Social Services Administration, which means you will have close access to a large group of licensed colleagues, and your immediate supervisor is licensed. As an occupational therapist at Linné or Nora, you will work daytime and be part of a large team consisting of nurses, care staff, and the manager of the respective residence. Qualifications We welcome both experienced and newly graduated licensed occupational therapists. You must be able to speak, read, and write Swedish fluently and have good computer skills. Experience working with elderly people and age-related diseases is meritorious. As a person, you adapt easily when conditions change and see opportunities where others see obstacles. You have a clear focus on goals and results and work systematically to achieve them. Furthermore, you enjoy collaboration and have a good ability to listen, communicate, and build trust. You are confident in decision-making and demonstrate good judgment in your actions. Employment can only occur after work permit verification, as required by the Aliens Ordinance. Employment with Uppsala Municipality may involve potential wartime placement.
