About this role
Are you looking for a varied job where you can take on significant responsibility and independently plan your work shifts according to patients' needs? Then you should apply for the position of nurse in home healthcare with Karlshamn Municipality. Here, you will work alongside experienced and supportive colleagues, sharing knowledge and assisting one another, always with the patient at the center of our focus.
"More and more advanced healthcare is being moved from hospitals to the patient's home, and we are there to provide it. We administer antibiotics, dress advanced wounds, give injections, IVs, and manage picc lines. We care for palliative patients and enable those who wish to die at home, surrounded by their family. - I can't imagine a better job," says Maria, who has worked in home healthcare for 13 years.
What you can expect:
As a nurse with us, you will work both in patients' homes and potentially in assisted living facilities. Depending on whether you hold a position as a PAS (Patient Area Nurse) or as a resource, your role may vary slightly; you may have your own patient area or, as a resource, take on a more flexible role covering for absences for the day or for a longer period. You are adaptable and can adjust according to the situation's demands. As a nurse in Karlshamn Municipality, you will work daytime hours and every sixth weekend, allowing for ample free time alongside your job.
Qualifications:
We are looking for a licensed nurse. The position requires good proficiency in speaking and writing Swedish, as well as a valid driver's license for manual transmission.
Previous experience in home healthcare is advantageous, as is any further education in areas such as outpatient care, palliative care, geriatrics, or psychiatry. We prefer candidates with one or more years of experience as a nurse, as you will often be working independently in patients' homes and need to feel confident in making medical assessments. Most importantly, we want you to apply out of genuine interest in working in home healthcare, not simply as a transition from another job.
We seek individuals who are open to new working methods and feel comfortable working independently. You have a genuine interest in working with people and approach each individual based on their needs and preferences. Furthermore, you are self-assured and highly value teamwork with colleagues and other professionals. It is essential that you have the ability to mentor others, as well as structure your workday and plan and prioritize based on individual needs. You will encounter a broad field of work where no two days are the same, so flexibility is required. You recognize the value of good collaboration and contribute to it by sharing your experiences and enthusiasm. For us, a professional and empathetic approach is a given, and we expect the same from you. Additionally, we want you to be proactive and committed to quality and patient safety. You should have good computer skills and be accustomed to using a computer as a work tool. If this describes you, you are well-suited to thrive in our organization. We place great importance on personal suitability.
We offer:
- Positive and competent colleagues along with an engaged and present manager
- Secure employment through collective agreements and insurance
- Professional development that enhances and develops your skills
