About this role
We are seeking two licensed physiotherapists for our rehabilitation unit at the Hand and Plastic Surgery Clinic in Umeå. One position is a temporary contract until August 31, 2026, with potential for extension, and the other is a permanent position.
Region Västerbotten works to strengthen good health and sustainable development. We take responsibility for equitable welfare and ensuring that research and innovation yield results.
The Hand and Plastic Surgery Clinic at Norrland University Hospital provides highly specialized hand and plastic surgery in the northern region for patients requiring both acute and planned treatment and subsequent rehabilitation. The clinic also has two national specialized assignments in brachial plexus surgery and dysmelia. Approximately 100 employees from various professions work here. The clinic includes a care ward, a reception, an operating department, a rehabilitation unit, and a medical documentation department.
The Hand and Plastic Surgery Rehabilitation Unit currently has five physiotherapists and six occupational therapists. The unit assesses and treats patients with injuries, diseases, or pain issues in the upper extremities. Treatment and rehabilitation at the rehab unit and in the plexus team are primarily conducted in outpatient settings, focusing on patient needs. We collaborate with other hand surgery clinics and maintain contact with regional colleagues for consultation and patient handover.
Want to be part of an engaged team? Here, you'll have the opportunity to make a real difference in people's lives, focusing on sustainable return to work and meaningful activities.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
As a physiotherapist with us, you contribute knowledge and commitment that helps patients feel secure.
You will assess and treat patients with injuries, diseases, or pain issues in the upper extremities, often following surgical interventions. You have a clear and significant role in the team, responsible for designing and implementing individually tailored rehabilitation programs and tracking treatment outcomes. The goal is to support patients in returning to functional daily life, previous occupations, and meaningful activities.
As we receive patients from the entire northern healthcare region, telemedicine is a natural part of our approach. The work also involves patient education, documentation, and collaboration with occupational therapists, physicians, and students in training. You will play a crucial role in contributing to the unit's development efforts.
We will develop an individual introduction plan together to ensure a secure start and good opportunity to learn the work.
One position is a temporary contract until August 31, 2026, with potential for extension, and the other is a permanent position.
