ABOUT THE POSITION
Envirotainer was founded in 1985 and currently has over 10,000 active temperature-controlled containers worldwide. We transport millions of doses of medication daily for all types of pharmaceutical manufacturers, covering over 2000 pharmaceutical trade fields in more than 100 countries and 300 airports. With over 40 years of industry experience, the world's largest pharmaceutical manufacturers rely on our products and our delivery – from large volumes of medication to individual patient samples.
Envirotainer currently has approximately 450 employees globally, with around 150 employees at the office and production site in Rosersberg. As a Lead Mechanical Designer, you will be part of a mechanical team of 8 employees spread across a Swedish and a German site. You will serve as an important advisor and expert in design matters and carry out design and investigative work. In addition to your immediate team, you will collaborate with production, the maintenance organization, other engineering teams, and procurement, reporting to the Head of Design & Mechanics.

RESPONSIBILITIES
For this role, we are looking for someone with both experience and interest in contributing your technical expertise to various mechanics-related issues. You will become a central knowledge bearer who contributes both your own design efforts and investigations, but above all focuses on developing the group's working methods and our competence. We use different design strategies depending on our current needs. Sometimes the focus is on low manufacturing costs and simple production, while other times it is on functionality, reparability, or flexibility. A central part of our development is also to achieve a good balance between weight and function since our products are transported by air. We actively work to minimize weight for both performance and climate reasons.
You will, for example…
* Serve as a technical leader and mentor in your technical area and provide advice and support to designers in the team.
* Prepare designs (e.g., system design, concepts, models, drawings/specifications, and descriptions) as well as classifications for new designs or changes to existing ones.
* Conduct design reviews and contribute to improved review procedures, checklists, and standards.
* Establish basic requirements and standardized methods to demonstrate compliance within your technical area.
* Prepare test specifications and perform tests to demonstrate compliance within your technical area.
* Conduct investigations, root cause analyses (RCA), and other analyses.
* Contribute to identifying skill gaps, developing training programs, and conducting training within your technical area.
