The Swedish Armed Forces are transforming and growing to meet future challenges and threats. Do you want to be one of us working towards a stronger defense of Sweden? The Armed Forces Telecommunications and Information Systems Unit (FMTIS) is seeking alarm technicians with placement in Karlsborg.
About the Organization
FMTIS has four implementation units (GE) in Sweden that perform maintenance of the Armed Forces' management systems within IT and telecommunications, where we belong to GE West. The unit works with maintenance of the Armed Forces' telephone networks, electrical/mechanical, radio, sensor, surveillance, and field systems, as well as installation, operation, and maintenance of various IT systems. The Implementation Department (GA) Karlsborg consists of two sections, a Telecommunications section and an IT section. Currently, there are approximately 15 employees in the department.
Primary Work Tasks
The main tasks of an alarm technician in technical surveillance involve performing corrective and preventive maintenance within the garrison and at facilities outside the garrison. The work includes burglar alarms, access systems, and camera systems. The work is typically performed in work teams.
Qualifications
• Three-year high school education in electrical or telecommunications orientation or equivalent knowledge assessed as comparable by the employer
• Driving license B for manual transmission
• Current, good IT knowledge
• Good ability to express oneself verbally and in writing in Swedish and English
Meriting Factors
• Professional experience as an electrician
• Professional experience from service jobs with electromagnetic locks
• Good knowledge and relevant work experience with surveillance, alarm, and access systems
• Good knowledge of network (Cisco, Fortinet) and server security solutions

Additional Information
In the Armed Forces, the position is called Telecommunications Engineer. This is a permanent employment as a civilian employee, starting with a six-month probationary period for those not already employed by the Armed Forces. This is a full-time position.
