We are approximately 12 alarm operators who currently work to:
- Support the rescue services in their operations, covering 9 municipalities in Kalmar County
- Interact with citizens primarily via phone, email, and the web
- Receive and manage various alarms, such as automatic fire alarms, burglary alarms, and safety alarms
- Respond to various emergency numbers
- Represent the Safety and Alarm Center in discussions with media, for example
- Search for information through various channels
- Inform, guide, and assist individuals appropriately
- Conduct surveillance to prevent burglary and vandalism
- Manage radio traffic across different networks
During each shift, at least two alarm operators and one duty officer from the rescue service are present in the alarm center. The staffing level remains the same throughout all hours of the day, year-round. Therefore, applicants must be able to work days, evenings, nights, and weekends.
We believe it is essential to provide you with the right conditions to handle the role of alarm operator, which is why we offer four weeks of internal training before you are expected to work independently. The employment and basic training include training as a municipal alarm operator. For those suitable and/or with qualifications from leading rescue service operations from the alarm center, the role of Alarm and Control Operator will also be included in the position.
**QUALIFICATIONS**
To work with us, we require at least a high school education, preferably with an administrative focus. You should have excellent computer skills as well as experience in administrative work and documentation. Experience from previous work in an alarm center, customer service, and night shifts is advantageous.
As an alarm operator, you will primarily use a computer and phone/headset in a shared alarm reception room, which necessitates high demands on your ability to communicate clearly. The job requires proficiency in both spoken and written Swedish and English; knowledge of additional languages is a plus.
We are looking for a colleague with a strong sense of service and good social skills who excels in interaction and service. It is important that you are self-assured and stable, and can convey that in your interactions with others. The position requires you to quickly assess various situations to prioritize incoming calls and alarms. You can handle pressure and difficult situations without it affecting your performance or demeanor. You thrive in a fast-paced environment and can adjust your tempo accordingly.
The position requires you to be a Swedish citizen. A background check from the criminal record and suspicion register may be conducted.
