Östberg School is a grades 4-9 school with approximately 440 students, accompanied by an after-school program, located centrally in Östersund on Frösön. We are close to outdoor activities and nature, within cycling distance to the center of Östersund and other neighborhoods. About the job
We are currently seeking a Teacher in Mathematics and Natural Sciences for grades 6-9. As a teacher in math and science, you will play a crucial role in educating and inspiring our students in mathematics and natural science subjects. You will be responsible for planning, implementing, and evaluating teaching in accordance with the school’s governing documents, while considering each student's individual needs and circumstances.
You will be part of an established subject team where you will encounter a positive and creative working environment, with a focus on collegial learning. Your work will involve collaboration with colleagues as you collectively strive for continuous pedagogical development and to create the best conditions for student success.
Qualifications
Requirements:
• Teaching certification with authorization to teach Mathematics and Natural Sciences
• Proficient in Swedish, both spoken and written
Preferred:
• Good knowledge of digital work and proficiency in using computers
• Previous teaching experience is considered an asset
• Experience working with the later years of primary school
Additionally, due to planned retirements, we have a need for a certified teacher in mathematics and natural sciences for the upcoming academic year. The position is permanent and full-time. There is also an opportunity during the year to work part-time and teach solely natural sciences, with the possibility to transition to full-time teaching in both mathematics and natural sciences. The position can be filled as soon as possible.
