Your responsibilities The after-school programs at Vist and Norrberga schools offer fantastic opportunities in our local area, with proximity to nature, forests, and water. We often make use of this by going on excursions in all seasons, which is appreciated by both students and staff. We also have a wonderful gym that provides excellent opportunities for recreational activities. As a teacher in the after-school program, your role is to work with planning, teaching, evaluation, and values-based work according to the curriculum. The work is carried out both independently and in close collaboration with colleagues. You view the student’s entire school day as important and therefore work together with parents and colleagues regarding the student. The after-school program and the school cooperate to achieve a higher degree of goal fulfillment and create the best possible conditions for each student. You will work with the student group you encounter and are expected to create varied and challenging teaching. In our after-school programs, we support each other, whether it involves a student needing extra support or a colleague who has had a tough day. We appreciate the honesty among us; there is an openness that encourages everyone to express their opinions and raise issues. We utilize each other's competencies, challenge one another, and test new working methods. Together, we create a safe and meaningful teaching environment where our students have the opportunity to develop. You will be part of a work team and our focus group for the after-school program, where you collaborate with your colleagues to enhance teaching and discuss pedagogical matters. We are also involved in a research project concerning the complementary assignments of after-school programs to schools. This position involves teaching in the after-school program in the afternoons. In the mornings, you will serve as a resource in the school and supervise recess. The role includes department responsibilities, possibly also managing recess activities alongside a colleague. Our operations are open Monday to Friday from 06:00 to 18:00. Your workplace Vist School and Norrbergaskolan together form the management area of Vist School. Both schools are located in the scenic area of Sturefors, just south of central Linköping. Vist School is a newly renovated F-6 school (340 students), and Norrbergaskolan is a newly built F-2 school (140 students). Here you will become part of a staff group with strong cohesion, collaborating with colleagues throughout the management area. You can easily reach Sturefors by bus directly from central Linköping. About 65 employees work at the school, including support functions such as school nurse, counselor, psychologist, special educational coordinator, school librarian, administrator, and caretaker. The staff is organized into four teaching teams where the school collaborates with the after-school program staff for the benefit of the students. We have qualified and competent personnel who continuously work to develop the operations with a strong focus on collegial learning. Our after-school program is characterized by safety, joy, and meaningfulness, with a dedicated team focused on ensuring that every child is seen and respected. We create activities that stimulate curiosity, creativity, and collaborative enjoyment. Secondly, we seek candidates who have a diploma or completed education as a teacher in an after-school program. Alternatively, you may be nearing the end of your education as a teacher in an after-school program. It is preferable if you can teach in multiple subjects, based on the needs of the operation. It is a requirement that you have experience as a teacher in a curriculum-driven after-school program, through practical work or employment. Experience as a teacher in an after-school program for at least one school year is an advantage. In your role as a teacher in the after-school program, you have a good understanding of the school's mission and are well-acquainted with the curriculum (Lgr22) and other governing documents. You possess strong communication skills in both spoken and written Swedish. This is essential for you to organize and carry out your work in a manner that supports the student's language and communication development according to the curriculum (Lgr22).
