About this role
In Ludvika, children and youth are important! We show this by making children and youth the core of our municipal organization. Most resources aimed at children and youth have been gathered under a single committee. This includes preschool, primary school, special primary school, and individual and family services. A common goal for all activities is a conscious quality effort to continuously develop and improve the work with children and youth.
At Vasaskolan, our administrative area works to ensure that our students are always at the center. We strive for our school to be the best possible environment for every student who attends here. A crucial factor in achieving this is our collaborative approach to planning, follow-up, assessment, and organization. Our students range from preschool to grade 6, and in each grade, there are teachers, leisure time teachers, and teaching assistants as needed. Together, the professionals in each grade form the "Little Team," where most operational matters for the grade are addressed.
In recent years, we have enhanced our knowledge regarding assessment, learned a great deal about multilingualism, and placed a special focus on our values-based work, including our use of the material "Bråka smartare." In this area, we have two lead teachers who, along with the teaching team, have worked intensively to develop the overall quality of instruction. Our leisure time teachers support the school during the day, which can involve subject responsibilities, work with special support, or implementing various skill training such as reading exercises.
We are currently seeking leisure time teachers to expand our team. At Vasaskolan, we want learning to be fun, and that is also why we laugh so much! Well-being, collaboration, and joy are equally important for our students as they are for us. You will join a workplace with strong cohesion, where there is always a colleague close by for support and assistance if needed.
**Job Responsibilities**
At Vasaskolan, we start the day with breakfast at the leisure center or outdoors with our wonderful children. You will work alongside your Little Team throughout the school day and spend the afternoon at the leisure center. There, you will be responsible for one activity or participate in others with the children. Depending on your area of responsibility, you will have individual planning each week, where you are expected to take the initiative and document and evaluate your teaching according to the school's governing documents. We plan based on defined themes and place extra focus on our values-based work and our current operational goal related to language at our leisure center.
Every week, all leisure-time teachers hold a conference where the systematic quality work in the leisure center is monitored and planned. We also review and co-plan the upcoming week's activities. When leisure-time teachers are in conference, the teaching team takes care of the children in the leisure center. For us at Vasaskolan, the conferences of all professionals are equally important, and that is why we support each other.
**Qualifications**
We are looking for a licensed leisure-time teacher. While experience is meritorious, we also offer mentoring support for newcomers. As a person, it is important that you are flexible since every day in the school environment is unique. You should also be inventive, curious, and enjoy challenges, as you will be meeting our children in various configurations during both the school day and afternoon leisure. You will work closely with several other adults, so good teamwork skills and the ability to give and receive constructive feedback are essential.
At Vasaskolan, you will work with the vision that we shall be the best school for each student attending here.
**What We Offer**
In addition to working on exciting issues in a varied daily environment, you will have the opportunity to be part of an organization that maintains essential community functions for residents of Ludvika municipality. As an employee with us, you will have access to wellness benefits, good opportunities for professional development, and the exchange of holiday allowances.
