Description
Torsland School is an institution with approximately 530 students in grades 7-9.
The school also has adapted primary education for students in grades 1-9, as well as a special needs group with students with various functional variations. Responsibilities
As a teacher of Home and Consumer Studies, you play a central role in preparing our students for independent living and making conscious choices about their future. You will actively lead efforts to create an understanding of the connections between personal finance, consumption, environment, and health. Through inspiring and practical teaching, you guide students in developing a critical approach to sustainable lifestyles, household economics, and the impact of meals on well-being.
Your role includes the continuous development of learning environments that promote creativity, collaboration, and practical skills while being a key person in the school’s broader work related to values and public health. Mentoring is also included in this position.
Qualifications
We are now seeking a certified teacher qualified to teach Home and Consumer Studies for grades 6-9.
To ensure that newly graduated teachers receive the best possible start in their careers, you will participate in the School Administration's Teacher Academy's introduction program for new graduates. This introduction provides a network with other newly graduated teachers and offers targeted activities during your first year of teaching.
We believe that a strong relationship between teachers and students is a crucial foundation for learning. As a teacher at our school, you are responsible for creating a good working atmosphere as well as a calm, safe, and pleasant school environment for our students. You are expected to be a supportive adult who is professional in your approach and interaction with both students and adults.
