About this role
From Good to Even Better – With Your Help
Friskolan Metis in Skara is now looking for a new colleague who wants to help develop our after-school program. Our school unit comprises 200 students from preschool to grade 9, of which approximately 70 are enrolled in after-school care. Additionally, the adjacent preschool, Athena, is a natural part of our operations.
About Us
Our after-school program is the school's face to the outside world and is characterized by daily interactions with guardians. We have a close collaboration with the rest of the school staff – for example, a member of the school staff is a guest every regular school Friday. Here, care and pedagogy are combined, and we actively work to ensure that the norms and values established in the curriculum permeate our daily work. We view students' play as their work, which fosters increased knowledge and personal development.
Our philosophy is based on the belief that “children do right if they can.” We help students develop their abilities, knowledge, and skills so they can become independent and responsible citizens. Together, we want to think innovatively about learning, teaching, well-being, and safety by trying new methods and approaches that create opportunities for each student to reach their full potential. We believe that courage, creativity, and collaboration provide us with the tools to achieve high goals – for all students.
Nature of the Work – Responsibilities
We are looking for an engaged and driven program leader for our after-school program, preferably with expertise in sports and health. You are a person who is passionate about after-school activities and has a natural ability to recognize and meet each student's unique needs. As a leader, you will:
• Lead the educational work in the after-school program in close collaboration with your colleagues and the students.
• Plan, implement, and evaluate teaching in accordance with applicable regulations.
• Be responsible for developing and advancing the after-school program.
• Teach practical/aesthetic subjects during school hours, with a special focus on sports and health.
Qualifications
We are looking for someone who:
• Is a licensed teacher in after-school care/after-school pedagogy.
• Has a genuine interest in children's learning and development, as well as a desire to further develop your professional competence.
• Possesses strong leadership skills and can create positive, long-lasting relationships with students, colleagues, and guardians.
• Is a team player who values collaboration and community.
• Has prior experience in similar work – experience is advantageous, but personal suitability is of great importance.

We apply ongoing recruitment, so please submit your application as soon as possible. Label your application with "After-School."
