At Mariaskolan, we have approximately 50 employees and 300 students. The school has two teams: 1-3 and 4-6, each with a team leader. Preschool class and after-school care form one team. The school is two-track. In the lower grades, 3 teachers work per year group. The middle grades use a subject teacher system. An student coach also works in the middle grades. The school's student health team consists of 1 special education teacher & 1 teacher with special expertise, 1 special education pedagogue in training, counselor, school nurse, deputy principal, and principal. Access to school doctor and school psychologist is available. We have a librarian in the school's beautiful library.
We work with systematic quality improvement using a specific model. Evaluation tools and annual plans have been developed collaboratively across the municipality's primary schools.
Currently, professional development is ongoing in SKA work, language and knowledge-developing approaches, and NPF training for all staff. This will continue in the coming school year.
Job Responsibilities

We are seeking a teaching assistant for Mariaskolan in grades 4-6. As a teaching assistant, you will support teachers in various tasks. Examples include accompanying classes/groups to physical education, swimming, playground supervision, and other activities. Assist with grading, handle certain documentation, and more. The role also includes teaching smaller groups in art. You will fill your time in the school's after-school activities. You may also substitute for teachers during absences.
Qualifications
Teaching assistant or childcare education, and/or experience working with students/children. Excellent Swedish language skills, both spoken and written.
You have the ability to work with people; to listen, show empathy and respect. You are humble and recognize and reward others' contributions.

Additional Information
Position start date: January 8, 2026, until June 12, 2026, with possible extension.
This is a vacation-based position.
