About this role
The Department of Operational Support has the main goal of developing the organization and creating effective and easily accessible support systems. We support the organization's work in areas such as security, communication, HR, finance, law, and other strategically overarching issues.
The County Administrative Board of Örebro County is in the midst of an exciting development phase.
Since January 2025, we have received an expanded mandate as a so-called concentration county, which means that we now handle cases from an additional six counties beyond our own. We have also taken over responsibility for supervision within several of the new categories of cases – and in 2026, our mandate is expected to grow further.
As a county lawyer with us, you will be a key person in building and developing the new operations. You contribute to a legally secure and efficient case handling process and have the opportunity to work broadly and develop in an environment where legal expertise has a significant influence on the quality and outcomes of operations.
Job Description
As a county lawyer with us, you will primarily work with processing appealed municipal decisions under the Planning and Building Act and supervising foundations and guardians.
The role also includes contributing legal expertise within the authority’s electoral organization. Depending on the needs of the operation, you may also work on other administrative legal matters, such as appealed municipal decisions in other areas or various types of appointments.
The work involves both external contacts regarding supervision and internal advice on legal issues that relate to the various areas of operation of the County Administrative Board. For us, legal security, efficiency, and good service are natural guiding principles in everything we do.
If necessary, contacts with the media may also occur.
Qualifications
We are looking for someone who has:
- A law degree or a master's in legal studies
- Several years of experience working within public administration in a court or authority at the central, regional, or local level.
It is advantageous if you have experience in legal areas relevant to the County Administrative Board's operations, particularly in the fields of foundations and guardianship, as well as the Planning and Building Act.
To thrive and succeed in this role, you possess good communication skills and enjoy meeting and collaborating with people, both during supervision visits and in other interactions. You are structured, meticulous, articulate in both speech and writing, and can explain decisions and positions in a pedagogical manner. Independence, initiative, and flexibility are important, as is a down-to-earth approach to tasks.
We place great emphasis on personal suitability and on working in accordance with our vision and the government's core values.
A driving license is required.
Employment
The position is permanent. A trial period may apply. The employment is classified as a security position, and a security clearance will be conducted in accordance with the Security Protection Act (2018:585).
Application
We welcome your application no later than November 24, 2025.
