We are in an exciting time of transformation, and now we are looking for our new Laboratory Manager!
About the Position
The laboratory is responsible for conducting all microbiological, chemical, and sensory analyses of finished products. The team consists of a laboratory coordinator, laboratory specialist, microbiological laboratory technician, and ten laboratory technicians working continuous two-shift and weekend schedules. The role includes:
• Responsibility for sampling and analysis according to internal and external requirements and guidelines
• Ensuring laboratory work by following up reference samples, developing and monitoring calibration, verification, and validation of equipment and work methods
• Ensuring each product meets quality and environmental standards
• Environmental/Workplace and personnel responsibility
• Developing continuous improvements
Qualifications
Experience: 4-5 years in a laboratory or equivalent
Knowledge of biology/microbiology, chemistry, statistics, computer tools, communication
Experience in organization, planning, quality control, office systems, line management, dairy science, control and analysis techniques
The role reports to the Quality Plant Manager, and the laboratory manager is also part of the dairy's management team. Working hours are during the day, Monday to Friday.
Who Are We Looking For?
We are seeking someone with a relevant college education, preferably in chemistry/microbiology/dairy science, with experience in similar tasks within the food industry. We also want you to have solid knowledge of microbiology, analytical equipment, and laboratory equipment calibration, as well as experience leading and motivating employees. You have the ability to handle multiple tasks under pressure and can quickly reprioritize when necessary. Furthermore, we prefer someone who is meticulous, analytical, and solution-oriented.
As a significant amount of communication occurs in English, it is important that you can express yourself fluently both verbally and in writing in both English and Swedish. It is also helpful if you have good knowledge of the Office package, especially Excel.
