Hällsboskolan in Umeå welcomes students with severe language impairments. Our teaching focuses on language and communication. We provide education for students from preschool class through grade 10. The goal is for students to have the conditions to meet knowledge goals, be active participants in various social contexts, and develop as individuals. We offer accommodations for students who cannot commute to school daily. **JOB DESCRIPTION** The position involves working as a substitute in the school operations. As a substitute, you should be prepared to step into teaching across all grade levels and in after-school activities at both group and individual levels. You will document the teaching for which you are responsible during the day and provide feedback to the regular teacher/assistant. You will be responsible for planning the teaching during longer absences. You will ensure that a safe learning environment is created. You will adapt and design the teaching in accordance with the materials provided by the regular staff. You will collaborate with colleagues when there is a need for support. You will work closely with colleagues and actively participate in the school's interactions with the community. You will contribute to the development of the school. You will also receive support from a special educator, IT educator, counselor, psychologist, school nurse, and speech therapist. **QUALIFICATIONS** We are looking for someone who has: - A teaching license that qualifies you to teach multiple subjects - Experience working with students with severe language impairments - Experience working with children in need of special support - Experience working with children with neuropsychiatric disabilities - Experience using IT and media in the operations - Experience with Alternative and Augmentative Communication (AAC) - Experience using IT and media in teaching for student development and learning both in groups and individually. You should be able to: - Translate the overarching goals of the curriculum and the knowledge goals of the syllabuses into varied and inspiring teaching for the students - Analyze, document, assess, and evaluate students' knowledge development, thereby providing the best possible conditions for their learning to achieve their goals - Choose alternative, adapted, and complementary pedagogical strategies based on children's needs and circumstances at both group and individual levels - Express yourself well in both spoken and written communication. **Personal Attributes:** - You are flexible in your working methods, solution-oriented, and experienced in collaborating in teams around student groups. - You possess personal maturity, integrity, and initiative. You have good communication and collaboration skills. - You are inventive and open to trying new things to find students' motivation and joy in schoolwork and after-school activities. - Your approach to students is characterized by a low-arousal response. You contribute, both individually and with others, to creating a safe and trusting environment based on mutual respect and good relationships. - You have the ability to meet students based on their individual circumstances and needs. We place great emphasis on personal suitability. **OTHER** Temporary position. Scheduled working hours are 40 hours/week. A background check must be presented prior to employment.
