Substitute Teacher, 100% Fixed-Term Position, Ängås School (Grades F-9)

About the Workplace Ängås School F-9 is a school with approximately 500 students. In F-6, we are a two-track school, and in 7-9, we are a three-track school. Your Duties As a substitute teacher at Ängås F-9, you are prepared to work as a substitute in all subjects and age groups. The base is in 7-9, but if needed, this may also include F-6 and After-School Care. The position is full-time with seasonal employment, i.e., a 40-hour week with the opportunity to take vacation when students are on break. If you prefer to work during breaks, you will be placed in after-school care. Working hours may vary, but you will work from a basic schedule. As a permanent substitute, you will either be assigned as a day-to-day substitute or given shorter or longer substitute positions at the school. To illustrate the breadth of potential assignments, in addition to pure teaching substitution, you may work morning after-school care (starting no earlier than 6:00 AM), provide homework support for 7-9 students, be a bus supervisor, playground supervisor, provide individual support, work in flexible groups, etc. You may also be assigned to supervise corridors and study halls to build relationships with students and work towards preventive and promoting safety at the school. Collaboration with regular staff is necessary to give students the best conditions to succeed in their studies. About You Building good relationships with students and colleagues is the primary skill needed for this assignment. We are looking for someone with experience working in schools and who is skilled at building relationships with students of different ages. You should be adaptable to different conditions and be open and flexible with a solution-oriented approach. You need to be confident in yourself to interact with students of various ages and behaviors. Experience from different workplaces and industries is meritorious. If longer substitutions become necessary (depending on sick leaves, absences, etc.), you will need to proactively contact regular staff to know what needs to be done. You may need to familiarize yourself with curricula and plans, and study different areas in various subjects for different ages as needed. You might be asked to grade in consultation with regular educators. You should be able to work independently and collaborate with various educators, student health services, and other school staff. Knowledge of neuropsychiatric functional variations (NPF) and low-affective approaches, and an interest in continuing to develop this work with us and the students, is meritorious.
