About this role
At Stimmets School, approximately 280 students attend from preschool to grade 6.
Many of our students speak multiple languages and enrich the school with their cultural backgrounds. We incorporate the outside world into our teaching while also taking our students out into the world. Our school is centrally located in Tyresö, with easy access to public transport, while nature is just around the corner.
Our operations are characterized by our vision: a passion for learning with brain and heart - I want, I can, I will.
We are currently seeking a dedicated and confident teacher for our special education group who wants to make a difference.
About the position
You will work in our special education group, where you will meet students in grades 3–6 who, for various reasons, need a smaller setting. The students in our special education group are divided into smaller groups based on their needs and circumstances. You will be a mentor for the students. You will plan, implement, and follow up on teaching based on the students' needs.
The teaching is characterized by clear structures and adaptations that provide students with the best possible conditions for both academic and social development.
You will be responsible for documenting the students' knowledge development. You will collaborate with other teachers, resource educators, teachers in practical and aesthetic subjects, as well as school management. In your work, you will be part of a team that takes joint responsibility for all students in the school’s special education group. You will maintain continuous contact with guardians and collaborating authorities.
Who are you?
You are a qualified and certified teacher with authorization to teach in grades 4–6 in mathematics, Swedish, social studies, English, and natural sciences. You have previous experience working in a special education group and knowledge or training in neuropsychiatric disabilities (NPF).
You are confident and responsible in your leadership role, creating conditions for learning through structure and clarity. You are flexible in your teaching and plan it for students at different levels and stages. You enjoy collaborating and excel at building good relationships with both children and adults. You remain calm in challenging situations that require you to be solution-focused.
Collaboration with other team members regarding the students is very important. You work salutogenically, focusing on strengthening students’ abilities and building confidence in their own competencies. By promoting independence and developing strategies to handle various situations in school and life environments, you contribute to each student reaching their full potential.
