Höglundaskolan is a primary school (grades F-6) with around 500 happy and eager-to-learn students and approximately 60 dedicated and competent staff members.
Our students and/or their guardians come from all parts of the world. Therefore, it is important that you are culturally aware and interested in actively working on the students' language development.
Our school is bright and fresh, and all our facilities are under one roof. In a socioeconomically challenging area like ours, it is crucial that the school embodies knowledge and safety as a foundation for students to dare and want to develop. This also requires conscious, goal-oriented, and at times hard work, but the daily reward from the students' successes and pride when they achieve their goals is why we choose to work at Höglundaskolan.
In the upcoming school year, significant emphasis will be placed on developing language and knowledge-enhancing methods across all subjects throughout the school. This will be done in collaboration with the Swedish National Agency for Education and other schools in the municipality.
**Job Responsibilities**
Your role will be to take on the position of one of our teachers in the lower grades. This means you will plan, implement, and follow up on teaching. You will also be a mentor for the class you teach, thereby taking full responsibility for the students' development, monitoring their academic progress, conducting development discussions, documentation, and communication with guardians. As a teacher, you will instruct in all theoretical subjects. Teaching in art and music may also be included. You are expected to have knowledge and experience in teaching children to read, write, and calculate. You will work in a team where collaboration and collegial learning are expected, providing support and further development in your teaching role.
**Qualifications**
We are looking for a qualified and certified teacher for the lower grades, with training in Swedish as a second language being essential. You are a clear and confident leader who joyfully and creatively ensures the students' learning. It is an advantage if you have broad subject competence and experience. You view relationship-building as a fundamental success factor for each student's optimal development based on their individual circumstances. It is also beneficial if you are trained in "PAX in school."
You are a team player who takes responsibility for your tasks and your engagement at the school, contributing to an environment where it is safe to fail and ask for help. You are open to trying new approaches in your role.
