About this role

Do you want to work in a smaller setting within the introductory programs where you have the opportunity to make a difference for students in need of extra support? Welcome to us! **Your Responsibilities** The introductory program is aimed at students who are not eligible for high school; our students often come from problematic school situations in primary school, may be newly arrived, and have a significant need for support both in their education and daily lives. All students study primary school subjects, and the programs are tailored to each student's circumstances and needs. This means that the students you teach, the content of the lessons, and the level of instruction can vary and change frequently. Work in the introductory programs is based on close collaboration between teachers, student health personnel, and leisure leaders. As a teacher, your starting point is to work with planning, instruction, evaluation, and value-based work according to the curriculum. The work is carried out both independently and in collaboration with colleagues. As a teacher, you will collaborate with guardians, colleagues, and others present in the school to achieve higher goal fulfillment and create the best conditions for each student. You will start from the student group you meet and are expected to create varied and challenging instruction. Using digital tools is a natural part of your teaching. You promote collegial learning through discussion and reflection during both planned and spontaneous occasions. To benefit students' learning, as well as your own and the development of the organization, you will leverage the experiences and knowledge of various professionals. The introductory programs are growing, and we are now looking for several teachers. In this position, you will teach some core subjects such as Swedish, mathematics, English, social studies, or Swedish as a second language, depending on your qualifications, competencies, and the needs of the organization. **Your Workplace** Berzeliusskolan is a centrally located school in Linköping with modern facilities. It includes the upper grades of primary school, high school, and adapted high school. The high school comprises science and technology programs as well as the introductory program focused on language introduction and individual alternatives. There are approximately 1,900 students in total, of which over 1,000 are in high school, and about 330 employees at the school. As the introductory program grows, this student group will have their classes in facilities located a bit away from Berzeliusskolan, but school lunch and instruction in sports and certain other subjects will take place at Berzeliusskolan. At Berzeliusskolan, we work together and strive for an atmosphere that welcomes everyone. This means we have clear routines, action plans, and a well-developed student health service to create a safe environment for students and staff. Our goal is for Berzeliusskolan to be the best choice for students' learning and development. **Who We Are Looking For** Primarily, we are looking for someone with a teaching license qualified to teach grades 7-9 in mathematics. Alternatively, we seek someone who has completed teacher training for grades 7-9 or is nearing the end of their teacher training in grades 7-9. It is advantageous if you are qualified to teach one or more natural science subjects in grades 7-9. Experience working in a curriculum-driven school through internships or employment is a requirement. A valid driver's license (category B) is also required. It is advantageous if you have taught grades 7-9 for at least one academic year. Experience with students in need of special support or teaching in introductory programs, special education groups, or resource schools is also a plus. In your role as a teacher for grades 7-9, you have a good understanding of the school's mission and are well acquainted with the curriculum (Lgr22) and other governing documents. You possess strong communication skills in both spoken and written Swedish. This is essential for organizing and conducting work in a way that supports students' language and communication development according to the curriculum (Lgr22). You are responsible for ensuring that each student can use the Swedish language in a rich and nuanced manner. As a teacher, you are a good role model. You have the ability to adapt your teaching to the students and allow them to be involved in shaping the instruction. In a quality-conscious manner, you create good conditions for students' development and learning and document this process. You collaborate well with colleagues, guardians, and other community contacts relevant to your professional role. **Additional Information** When applying for a position in Linköping Municipality, you must register your application by logging in via e-identification (such as BankID or FrejaID) instead of using an email address.
