About this role

Orust – the green and safe island where thoughts are free and dreams come to life. We invest in development and prioritize both welfare and our employees. We are proud that our latest employee survey showed that nearly 90% of our staff are proud to work in Orust Municipality. Welcome to us! About the workplace Ängås School F-9 is a school with approximately 500 students. In grades F-6, we operate with two parallel classes, and in grades 7-9, we have three parallel classes. Ängås School offers excellent digital resources for both staff and students, with smartboards in every classroom. All students and educational staff work within Google Suite for Education (GSFE). From grade 3, students receive their own Chromebook. We utilize many digital learning materials, and each teacher organizes their instruction in Classroom. Other systems we work with include SchoolSoft, Prorenata, and BeSched. The school has a well-functioning student health team that each teacher collaborates with based on the needs and well-being of the students. We also have a safety team led by a counselor that handles specific student cases not covered by the daily work of the student health team. Additionally, we are fortunate to have a student café that is part of the LSS operations in the municipality, where high school students can practice and develop various skills. Your responsibilities You will teach Mathematics and Science (Chemistry, Physics, Biology) in grades 7-9. You will also serve as a mentor for a class alongside a mentoring colleague. The mentoring role includes communication with guardians and students for necessary interventions. The position includes typical teacher responsibilities, including managing various routines in the systems we use, such as SchoolSoft and Prorenata. You will also contribute to the systematic quality work of the unit (planning, implementation, follow-up, and analysis) in collaboration with colleagues. You will be part of a work team and a subject team. Building relationships is a crucial foundation in this role, both with students and colleagues. This is a permanent position starting in the spring term of 2026. About you We are looking for a certified teacher for grades 7-9 with subject qualifications in Mathematics and Science. If you do not have qualifications in all these subjects, we are primarily interested in your qualification in Mathematics. You should be able to work independently with planning, implementation, and follow-up, but also be a good team player and contribute to the overall success with your colleagues. We hope you place great importance on both value-based goals and knowledge goals, with a focus on the student. We believe that a student cannot perform their best if they are not well. It is everyone's responsibility in the school to help provide students with the conditions to succeed. Each person contributes in their own way. You have the ability to tailor your planning and implementation based on each student's circumstances. We seek someone who is a confident leader in the classroom and a skilled team player within the work team. We hope you agree that by sharing and collaborating, we can collectively develop our operations. You are independent, responsible, and aware that everyone contributes to a good operation with high quality, and that the chain is never stronger than its weakest link. We operate under the motto "All children are everyone's children," and we hope you can resonate with this sentiment. We value personal suitability highly and are eager for you to fit in with our team. You are welcome to join a wonderful group of men and women, young and slightly older, who enjoy working with students and each other! Honesty, joy, and humor are important building blocks for a pleasant work environment. We recognize that we are each other's work environment and would love to have you in our team. We hope you want to become a part of us! Additional information: Working hours/duration: Full-time, permanent. Salary: Individual salary setting. Start date: January 7, 2026.
