Skogsbo School is a primary school for grades F-6 with approximately 480 students. The school is located just outside central Avesta. At our school, we actively work to create good conditions for learning by providing a safe learning environment and high-quality teaching, both in the classroom and in after-school care. We are a partner school with Dalarna University, which means we welcome teacher students every semester, contributing to our scientific foundation and the development of our operations.
All teaching at the school should be permeated by our three guiding principles: learning, safety, togetherness, to give all students the opportunity to develop as far as possible based on their individual circumstances.
**Description of Responsibilities**
The position involves teaching Swedish and another subject based on competence in grade 6. For this school year, we have expanded our teaching staff with more teachers in the middle school to enable co-teaching in mathematics, Swedish, and English.
You will be responsible for planning, implementing, and evaluating teaching in accordance with Lgr22 and other governing documents. You will also collaborate with colleagues, students, guardians, and other relevant actors to create a safe and developmental environment for the students. Your responsibilities include planning, implementing, and evaluating teaching both individually and in collaboration with work teams and other colleagues. A key part of the job is to systematically follow the students' knowledge development. You will work according to current routines for individual development plans and written assessments. You will strive to create a classroom situation where all students can succeed based on their circumstances. In consultation with the student health team, you will also work to ensure that relevant measures are put in place for students in need of additional support. You will be responsible for creating and maintaining good relationships with students, colleagues, and guardians. Your tasks will include ongoing communication with guardians and conducting development conversations. You will also need to have a good overview and care for your students' school day and overall social situation, which may involve contact with other authorities and agencies.
Other tasks may include:
• Supervising during breaks
• Ordering teaching materials and similar in collaboration with work teams
• Educational lunches, etc.
**Qualifications**
We are looking for someone who has the ability to lead and motivate students and create a safe and educational classroom environment, with engaged and participatory students. Your leadership is characterized by clarity and structure. For the work to be successful, you need to have good collaboration skills and be relationship-building, as good relationships with students, guardians, and colleagues are fundamental to the work.
You need to be able to adapt your teaching based on results, evaluations, and the individual student's needs. To achieve this, you should have a good understanding of how different students absorb knowledge and the ability to adjust your teaching methods at both group and individual levels.
The responsibilities require personal maturity and the ability to distinguish between personal and professional matters. You should have cultural awareness, value diversity, and understand how background, culture, and group affiliation affect oneself and others. You also need to be stable and controlled in stressful or pressured situations, as well as flexible and adaptable to changing circumstances. You understand the importance of working towards the school's overarching goals and following established routines, guidelines, and decisions, always working for the best interests of the organization. Your ability to express yourself in Swedish, both written and spoken, is strong.
A teaching license with qualifications in Swedish for grades 4-6 is a requirement for employment. Applicants with other educational backgrounds may also be considered.
