Teacher in Mathematics/Science Subjects for Introductory Programs

We are looking for a teacher in mathematics and science subjects who wants to be part of a cheerful team focused on coaching and guiding each student according to their goals and circumstances. You will also serve as a mentor for a number of students in the Introduction Programs. Your Role You will teach your subjects, primarily mathematics. Planning and allocation of students into different groups is done in collaboration with other mathematics teachers, as the instruction is tailored to meet individual and group needs. This means a wide range of levels, as some students are at a lower primary school level while others are studying mathematics at the high school level. In the Introduction Programs, we work together and view the students as our shared responsibility, but as a mentor, you will have additional responsibilities for your mentee students. This includes establishing good relationships with both students and guardians, as well as monitoring attendance and academic plans against set goals. Most students study primary school subjects with the aim of qualifying for a national program, while others may proceed to folk high school or other options. Your Knowledge and Experience - You are a certified teacher with qualifications in mathematics and science subjects. - You have experience working with students who require adjustments and support. - You have a low-arousal approach but understand the importance of clarity and structure. - You see solutions and opportunities for development. We have approximately 470 students distributed across ten programs, two principals, and one head of high school. In the Introduction Programs, we have around 70 students. We have ongoing international exchanges for students and staff through Erasmus+. In Vara Municipality, there is a school social team (SST) that implements measures to increase attendance among students in the Introduction Programs. We also collaborate with KAA, AME, and Unga F (AF). Additional Information A teaching certification is required for permanent employment. The focus is on primary school level, but since instruction occurs at both primary and high school levels, we prefer that you have qualifications for both.
