Do you want to inspire the next generation of classical singers? Vadstena Song and Piano Academy is seeking a dedicated and experienced teacher of classical singing for instruction in our college preparatory program.
About Us
Vadstena Song and Piano Academy is an arts and culture education institution for singers and pianists specializing in Western classical music. Many of Sweden's most prominent musicians have begun their journeys with us. The program is two years long and prepares students for admission to music and opera colleges, both nationally and internationally.
Since August 2024, Lilla Akademien Music School is the main administrator of the program. Lilla Akademien offers high-level music education with a focus on quality, diversity, and holistic learning. Our vision is to shape tomorrow's artists and highlight the importance of culture in society.
About the Position
We are looking for a classical singing teacher with a passion for developing young voices. You will:
· Be responsible for individual singing instruction, tailored to each student's needs and potential.
· Prepare students for entrance exams to music colleges in Sweden and internationally.
· Collaborate with the faculty in Vadstena and contribute to the collective efforts of the teaching team to manage and develop the program.
Scope: Approximately 30% (lessons scheduled for 1-2 days per week). Employment type: Fixed-term contract for one semester, with the possibility of a permanent position and, in the long term, a higher workload.
We are looking for someone who:
· Has professional experience as a singer.
· Is educated at a music college.
· Has teaching experience, preferably at the high school, folk high school, or music college level.
· Is pedagogical, inspiring, and capable of creating a safe and developmental learning environment.
