About this role
Stockholm – our capital city filled with millions of dreams, expectations, and ambitions. We work for everyone living here today and in the future. We are now looking for someone who wants to think big, new, and differently with us – for the people of Stockholm.
In our schools, every student should have the opportunity to reach the peak of their potential.
To achieve this, we need the very best teachers. Therefore, all our teachers must:
- Take responsibility for and have insight into students' results, which means being attentive to each student's circumstances and needs.
- Have high expectations for students and their ability to develop.
- Capture and stimulate students' curiosity, interest, and learning.
- Take responsibility for relevant professional development to grow and advance in their profession.
Our vision: Together and with joy for every student's development and learning.
Aspuddens School is a very pleasant F-9 school with just over 800 students. We have fantastic surroundings near Vinterviken. It is a true school with a cafeteria, sports halls, laboratory rooms, and well-equipped classrooms for practical and aesthetic subjects. The home and consumer studies classrooms are located at the top of the main building, providing ample natural light and opportunities for peace and quiet. Our shared working environment should be the best possible! We strive for an active and curious adult presence throughout the school day. Here, we thrive as a team and appreciate an open atmosphere. The school's teaching also incorporates traditions such as the Chef Duel, Nobel celebrations with award ceremonies, author visits, and joint school graduations with musical arrangements, among others. If you belong to the driven category of teachers with a student focus and passion for the mission, we look forward to your application.
Experience in teaching and mentoring at the secondary level is a requirement. You conduct modern and creative teaching and find strategies to reach every student, enhancing both their knowledge development and personal growth. Your responsibilities include planning, implementing, and evaluating the educational work based on the school's governing documents and the needs and interests of the students, both individually and in collaboration with your team. You collaborate with other school staff to create a good learning and working environment for both students and staff, and you actively participate in the school's development work. You will have a subject colleague with whom you co-plan and co-assess.
The position as a teacher in home and consumer studies is a temporary position that includes teaching grades 6-9 and shared mentorship in grade 9, corresponding to approximately 80%. The position also includes teaching English in grade 8, approximately 20%. We hope to have someone start by January 25 or as soon as possible thereafter.
For a smooth process, we suggest you prepare by requesting a criminal record extract to present at a potential interview.
The City of Stockholm works with competency-based recruitment aimed at recognizing each person's qualifications and thereby counteracting discrimination.
