JOB DESCRIPTION
Georgshill School is a K-9 school with both adapted primary education and after-school care. The school has 460 students and 90 staff members. Our goals focus on language development, mathematics, and attendance.
The position is a temporary role lasting until the summer of 2026.
You will work as a teacher for the middle school level, teaching subjects including Swedish, English, mathematics (including grade 7), and natural sciences. Your responsibilities will include planning, implementing, and evaluating educational activities both individually and in collaboration with other educators at the school, in accordance with the school's governing documents. You will lead your own classes and also work closely with other educators in the organization. As a teacher, you will promote each student's development and learning. It is your responsibility to build strong relationships with students, parents, and colleagues. You serve as a positive adult role model for all students at the school.
QUALIFICATIONS
We are looking for candidates with a teaching degree and teaching certification for middle school. Previous experience in educational work at the primary school level is an advantage. To succeed and thrive with us, you need to have a strong ability to collaborate, be attentive, and easily understand others' perspectives. You should be self-assured, stable, and possess good self-awareness. It is important for this role that you have well-developed pedagogical skills. You should have a good understanding of how children and adolescents acquire knowledge and the various conditions for learning. Flexibility and the ability to adapt to changing circumstances in the organization are also essential.
The position is subject to a background check. Applicants must provide an extract from the police criminal record before employment can occur.
