Please read more about Lysekil at Lysekil Municipality - https://lysekil.se/. Video at https://youtu.be/VnvQMbiYE3U Description Mariedalsskolan is an F-6 school with approximately 320 students. The school is beautifully located in the Mariedal area, close to the sea and a small forest area, which allows the school and after-school program to use the outdoor environment in their pedagogical activities. Approximately 45 staff members work here. We have a high qualification rate among our teachers and competent staff focused on students' best interests. We are a beloved school with the desire for all our students to achieve good knowledge development through quality education, safety, and study peace. Mariedalsskolan has two after-school care departments, each with two planning-responsible after-school care teachers. During the school day, they also plan and implement recess activities for lower and middle school and teach FA (leisure activities during the school day) in preschool class and grades 1-3. According to the 2025 employee survey, staff at Mariedalsskolan find their work meaningful and developing, with a trusting and permissive climate, where opinions and ideas are valued, leadership is credible and clear, goals are set clearly, and there is plenty of room for humor and laughter! The after-school care's prioritized development goals for the academic year are that it should be a place of learning. We have worked based on the Swedish National Agency for Education's module on After-School Care's Mission, with all staff participating to create consensus and raise the quality of the operation. During the 25/26 academic year, after-school care teachers will receive further education based on the book "A Leisure Pedagogical Work". Our student health team works at the school, consisting of special education teachers, counselors, school psychologists, school nurses, deputy principals, and the principal. We have developed close collaboration with after-school care and teacher work teams, where in the FFE forum (Preventive and Promoting Student Health Work), we work together to create good conditions for learning and student development in a safe and accessible learning environment. Job Duties We are now seeking a substitute after-school care teacher at Mariedalsskolan. When working with us, it's important that you enjoy collaboration, have the ability to create good relationships with students, colleagues, and guardians. You should be confident in your professional practice and have a clear purpose in your work. As an employee, you'll be an important part of our vision to create the best school for every child and student! Qualifications We are looking for someone with a higher education degree in after-school care or equivalent education. You have good knowledge of children's learning and experience with school and after-school activities. We believe you can perceive children's needs, are familiar with the curriculum, and can implement it in practice. You are skilled at enthusing and leading activities and are flexible, solution-oriented, responsible, and positive. Your approach and attitude are your most important work tools. You enjoy collaborating with colleagues on children's learning and are skilled at building trusting relationships with students, colleagues, and parents. We expect you to be responsible and curious. We place great importance on personal suitability. Conditions The position is a 100% temporary position during the spring semester of 2026. Interviews will be conducted continuously, submit your application today! Criminal record extract will be required at potential interview. The position is subject to necessary approvals. Warmly welcome to apply! We actively work with diversity to utilize the qualities of applicants with different backgrounds. Lysekil Municipality is a smoke-free workplace.
