JOB DESCRIPTION
Welcome to the small school in the countryside. At Värsås School, we hold knowledge in high regard. We uphold the student's right to education according to the Education Act and want every student to reach their full potential in their knowledge development. We also want all students to feel safe and thrive at school. We work from a holistic perspective on each student's learning and development. Our guiding principles are knowledge, safety, and well-being.
As a teacher for the after-school program, you have a pedagogical role that contributes to a stimulating and developmental experience for students throughout the school day. You will work in the classroom during school hours and provide instruction in the after-school program. Together with the educators in the after-school program, you will plan, implement, and follow up on teaching based on our governing documents. You are expected to be flexible, collaborative, and solution-focused.
In collaboration with school leadership and colleagues, you will take joint responsibility for all students at the school and work to create safety and a positive learning climate among students and within the school.
Responsibilities as a teacher in the after-school program:
- Collaborate throughout the school day
- Plan and implement activities in the after-school program based on LGR22
- Supervision and care. Be a safe adult.
- Documentation, administration, and communication.
- Contact with guardians
- Supervise recess and lead recess activities
- Participate in educational meals
- Responsible for leading the planning, implementation, and follow-up of the program.
QUALIFICATIONS
We are looking for someone who is a qualified teacher for the after-school program. Work experience from after-school programs within schools is an advantage. You should be well-versed in governing documents. We want you to be flexible, accustomed to working in groups, and able to adapt well to different situations and people. You should have good language skills in Swedish, both spoken and written.
You are an engaged, responsible, driven, and positive person who finds solutions to challenges. You are structured yet creative and enjoy active participation in children's groups. You understand the importance of functioning relationships and good communication with the school's students and their guardians. You are self-motivated but also value the significance of having good colleagues around you.
We would also welcome applicants who are qualified teachers for grades 1-3.

To begin working in preschool, school, after-school programs, and other educational activities, you must provide a criminal record extract. The extract is valid for one year and can be ordered from the Swedish Police Authority at www.polisen.se.
