JOB DESCRIPTION We are seeking a driven, innovative, and dedicated leisure teacher who wants to help develop our leisure center in collaboration with other educators working in the facility. Sandsbro School aims to be a relationship-building school where we work to create safety and well-being through present educators. They, together with the students, will develop and ensure that the school is a place where individuals are recognized, challenged, and succeed based on their unique circumstances. The school is located in Sandsbro, about 4 km north of Växjö. Here, we work closely with nature and the environment, with Toftasjön right next to the school. Within walking distance, you can also reach Helgasjön and the beautiful environment of Fylleryd Forest with its nature reserve and lovely walking paths. We have a large schoolyard with both forest and open areas where students can enjoy free play as well as planned outdoor activities. Our school is built on organizational learning where a pedagogical, digital, social, and physically accessible learning environment permeates the work at the school. We operate based on differentiated instruction and a conscious and clear leadership. Our goal is for every student, according to their individual circumstances and abilities, to take responsibility and have an influence over their learning. They should also have the opportunity to further develop the ability to show respect for themselves, other students, staff, and our physical environment. As a leisure teacher with us, you will be responsible for planning, implementing, and evaluating instruction according to the applicable curriculum. You will be part of a team across all leisure departments and work together with colleagues where you have responsibility for one department. We have four leisure departments divided by grade levels: Pre-school, Grade 1, Grade 2, and Grades 3-6. We work collaboratively, and team spirit is important as we strongly believe that together we achieve the best results. Our goal is to have, as far as possible, two educators in the classroom during the school day, which means that as a leisure teacher, you will be connected to classes in Grades F-3. You will work with the leisure center's part of the curriculum by, for example, conducting your own lessons in whole or half classes. QUALIFICATIONS We are looking for you who are a qualified teacher authorized to teach in leisure centers or you who are a trained leisure educator. We place great emphasis on personal suitability. As a leisure teacher, you will work based on the school's governing documents with clear goals, stimulating all students to develop. You will create engagement, curiosity, and safety within the group, and you are a clear leader. A good social ability, professional attitude, collaborative skills, and a positive approach towards students, parents, and colleagues are essential. You are open to collegial learning and have a good understanding of how learning occurs in the early years. You are also clear with students and parents about how learning is progressing, document results, and continuously inform students and parents.
