About this role

Description We are now seeking a licensed teacher for the after-school program at Långedragsskolan. Långedragsskolan is located in a coastal environment with great opportunities for rich nature experiences. The school is a single-track school with approximately 200 students from preschool to grade 6. All staff work closely together to develop and support students in their learning process. Staff work in teams that collectively strive to develop students' self-esteem, creativity, curiosity, and love of learning. In autumn 2021, the school moved to new premises on Patrullgatan 13. Långedragsskolan is part of a school district with Hagenskolan and Nya Varvets skola. Our school district consists of three preschool to grade 6 schools, flex activities, adapted primary school, and a Horse-Assisted Intervention program for students with long-term problematic school absence. We have a total of 900 students and 90 staff. The schools have equivalent student populations and students have good goal achievement. All schools have extremely engaged and competent staff. There is an overarching principal for the school district and four deputy principals. Work Tasks All schools work with the PALS model, which focuses on promoting and preventing security and study calm in schools. This is to create a shared perspective that promotes positive behavior in a school environment focused on the relationship/interaction between school staff and students. You will work in the after-school program where you will lead and stimulate students in their learning and personal development in a constructive and inspiring way based on their individual conditions. You will plan, implement, and follow up after-school activities together with your colleagues in the team. Qualifications Requirements We are seeking a licensed after-school program teacher. Meritorious Experience working in after-school programs, but we also welcome recent graduates to apply. Personal Competencies To be suitable for the role, we want you to have a good ability to work goal-oriented and develop the quality of the activities. You contribute new ideas and perspectives on work-related issues and in situations that need to be resolved. You take initiative and responsibility to move work forward, whether working alone or with others. We also appreciate a clear and good communicator who can gain traction for thoughts and ideas and influence decisions in a certain direction. At the same time, you see opportunities and find joy in working together with others to create the most developmental, inspiring, and challenging after-school program possible. You are curious, initiative-taking, innovative, and want to develop in your work. You have the ability to create good relationships with students, guardians, and colleagues. You work with low-affective approaches and are attentive to students' different needs. You provide students with security through clear frameworks while inviting influence. You have the ability to set clear boundaries and be a good leader. Welcome with your application! To ensure the best possible start for newly graduated teachers, you will be part of Gothenburg's primary school administration's introduction for newly graduated teachers. The introduction provides you with a network of other new graduates and targeted activities during your first year as a teacher.
