Organizational Description Hedskolan is a three-parallel school for grades F-6 with an adapted primary school. We have approximately 500 students and 100 employees. We are centrally located in Gällivare municipality within walking distance to the sports hall, swimming pool, etc. Hedskolan has a well-developed collaborative learning approach that covers all aspects of the curriculum. We continuously review organizational solutions to ensure a good work environment and optimal teaching for students. We have four after-school program departments that collaborate. As a new teacher in Gällivare municipality, you will receive guidance from experienced teachers. We have a developed collegial and collective learning approach. Special education teachers, counselors, and school nurses are available on-site, and we collaborate as a team for students' best interests. Class mentors are now present in all classes at Hedskolan, primarily working on the social aspects of the curriculum. Playground supervision and activities are among their most important tasks. Your work includes planning and teaching across all four after-school program departments, with primary focus on Preschool Class through Grade 6. Some planning will also involve the Adapted Primary School's after-school activities. You will collaborate with class mentors and teaching assistants in daily work. The role also involves collaborating with other school personnel within your assignment. Qualifications We are seeking candidates with certification to work in after-school programs, who have an attentive and responsive approach to students' diverse needs, are clear leaders, and have strong collaborative skills. You should be independent, responsible, and able to take initiative. We develop our work through pedagogical discussions and collegial learning, viewing mutual support and curiosity about new working methods as strengths. Personal suitability is highly important. As Gällivare municipality is an administrative district for Sami, Meänkieli, and Finnish languages, knowledge of any of these languages is considered meritorious.
