Adapted Primary School, Grades 1-6 Västra School is centrally located with proximity to natural areas, ski trails, swimming pools, museums, and all the city's opportunities. At the adapted primary school, we provide education tailored to the conditions of students who are not expected to meet the standard primary school knowledge requirements due to intellectual disability or cognitive impairment from brain injury. The education corresponds as closely as possible to the education provided in regular primary school. The adapted primary school has its own comprehensive curriculum that sets goals, guidelines, and fundamental values that characterize the school's activities. The curriculum is complemented by course plans and knowledge requirements. Job Responsibilities We are now seeking a leisure-time teacher for Adapted Primary School West. As a leisure-time teacher, you will be part of the leisure-time team, collectively planning leisure activities. During your workday, you will combine your role as a leisure-time teacher with a classroom assignment, collaborating with teachers to support students in schoolwork, participate in and activate students during breaks, meals, and outdoor activities. Some external contacts may occur. You will have daily contact with teachers and other colleagues regarding work follow-up and planning, and participate in work-related conferences. The job requires a high degree of flexibility and creativity. You should have a good ability to constantly adapt work based on different learning situations and support students in social situations and relationships. Your Profile We are seeking someone with previous experience working with students with intellectual disabilities. We prefer candidates who use sign language and visual support in student interactions and instruction. You are comfortable working independently but see collegial learning as a natural starting point. You communicate easily, collaborate well, and are committed to creating a safe learning environment based on mutual respect. Relevant work experience is meritorious. Personal suitability is prioritized, such as education or work experience, and any additional qualifications. About the Administration We teach children to read, count, and discover the world. Through our adult education, one can learn Swedish as a second language, take individual courses, or pursue longer education.
