We are currently offering the opportunity to work with us as a French teacher on a temporary contract for the remainder of the school year. We are looking for an engaged and flexible teacher who wants to work at a large and attractive secondary school in the heart of the city. As a secondary school teacher, you will instruct students in their early teenage years, where mentorship is part of the role. Building relationships with students is a crucial aspect of the educational work, to establish trust and a safe environment both inside and outside the classroom. You will teach students in grades 7-9 but may also hold lessons for grade 6 in our other school building in northern Örebro. Together with the other modern language teachers, you will share teaching materials, ideas, and methods. We collaborate to ensure that the school's students receive the knowledge they need and good conditions for the future. You will be part of a fantastic team with extensive experience that collaborates and supports each other every day. You are expected to contribute to the team's development by actively participating in meetings and the group's professional development. Examples of Responsibilities: • Plan, implement, and evaluate French instruction • Use methods and approaches that lead to the best possible achievement of goals • Provide mentorship/perform class leader tasks • Work collaboratively with the team and other staff at the school • Document in the existing operational systems About the Workplace Olaus Petriskolan is a K-9 school located centrally in Örebro, with grades F-6 in the north and 7-9 in the city near Oskarsparken. The secondary school has about 600 students divided into 6 teams. The teams are responsible for a clearly defined group of students. We offer three unique profiles: culture, sports and health, and maker space. In close collaboration with the Culture School, we work across subject boundaries, allowing art, music, and theater to contribute to all students' learning as we engage in interdisciplinary thematic areas. Qualifications To succeed in the role of teacher, a genuine interest in and willingness to get to know our students is essential, and the ability to create good relationships is important in your educational mission. Furthermore, you are responsible, organized, have good collaboration skills, and communicate clearly with students, guardians, and colleagues. You have a good understanding of youth development and learning and are engaged in both teaching and mentorship. You are independent in your work while also easily collaborating with educators, student health services, and principals when necessary. We place great emphasis on personal suitability. Requirements: • Teaching certification with authorization to teach French for grades 7-9, or an equivalent degree that qualifies for teaching certification Meritorious: • Authorization to teach Swedish • Authorization to teach Swedish as a second language • Experience teaching grades 7-9 Scope and Start Date Employment Type: Temporary contract Employment Rate: 50% Start Date: As soon as possible, by agreement - until June 13, 2026 (with the possibility of extension) Number of Positions: 1 Additional Information A teaching certification with the specified authorization must be attached to the application, or an equivalent degree certificate that qualifies for certification.
